Ed Sheeran became emotional during his concert in Philadelphia Saturday night as he reflected on what he described as a difficult week.
The singer performed at Lincoln Financial Field without his scheduled supporting acts after they withdrew following Macklemore’s removal from the Loop Tour over his pro-Palestinian remarks.
Sheeran also addressed the Israel-Palestine conflict from the stage, telling the audience he felt there were questions he needed to answer.
Closing the show, Sheeran fought back tears as he thanked the crowd and said gatherings like the concert gave him hope.
